Arranging an assessment
Outpatient appointments are booked through the hospital on the numbers below; international patients can ask for Michael Yu. Bring photographs of yourself from five and ten years ago if you have them, and a written note of what you notice and when. Bring any record of previous facial treatment, including injectables and energy treatments, because they change what the tissue can tolerate.
What the consultation should establish
How much of the change is descended tissue, how much is lost volume and how much is skin; whether the descent is deep enough for the deeper operation to change something you would notice; what your skin elasticity will allow; and what the recovery would cost you in the specific weeks ahead of you. You should leave able to say which variant was proposed and why the other one was not.
The questions worth asking
What would be released and what would be left attached; who performs the operation and how routinely; what happens if a nerve is met, who would assess it and how long it would be watched; how a revision would be handled and by whom; where the operation is performed and who is available at night; and what the plan does not do. Ask what would make this the wrong operation for your face. A surgeon who answers that specifically is assessing you.
Before you commit
No decision needs to be made at the first appointment. Take the plan away, read it against the guides on this site, and come back with questions. A discount that expires, or pressure to book before an assessment is complete, is information about the clinic rather than about your face.
